What does Anon mean?

Contrary to popular usage as short for anonymous, anon is an archaic word which means 'soon, shortly'. Taking that idea forward, Anon tasks is for tasks you wish to wrap up but aren't based on time. They need to be done and should be done but aren't necessarily pressing.

02.

Where are all my tasks saved?

All your data and tasks are only saved on your device. They are also periodically backed up to your personal iCloud account just like notes. Nobody but you have access to them.

Tasks are purely text based and hardly take up any space in your precious cloud storage. This also enables syncing to iCloud to be quick.

03.

Is Anon Tasks safe to use?

Anon is perfectly safe to use. It has no access to your tasks or personal data. It collects your location but stores it temporarily on your device and then writes over it.

TL;DR we don't have access to any personal information so we can't misuse it.

04.

Are the tasks safe on my device?

Your tasks are perfectly safe on your device. They are periodically backed up to your iCloud account. If your device were to get damaged or lost, your tasks are safely stored in your own iCloud account for your next signin.

05.

How do I add date / time to a task?

Anon was designed for backburner tasks. It is not a scheduling app and hence does not support adding date / time to a task. For scheduling meetings, etc we recommend using calendar apps. Once you are done with your meeting however Anon might just remind you of other tasks you can wrap around the location.

06.

I plan to get an iPhone? Will my tasks migrate to the new device?

Yes! All your data and tasks are already saved / backed up to your iCloud account. Once you sign in on your new device, simply download Anon tasks from the app store (you can find it in your purchases) and it will sync to your last back up state in no time.

07.

I plan to get an Android phone? Will my tasks migrate to the new device?

Sadly no! Anon tasks is exclusively available on the iPhone and we have no plans of releasing an android version.

Can we convince you to check out the latest iPhone though? We hear the camera is really really nice!

08.

Does Anon provide analytics to show how productive I was?

Nope! Anon was designed for you to be productive by wrapping up as many tasks as you can when you are in a particular location. All this without forcing you. Who wants to be judged on their productivity anyway?

Why does the app keep crashing on startup?

Anon requires three distinct permissions from you on installation. Firstly it asks for permission to use location services even when you aren't using the app. Secondly it asks for permission to send you notification for tasks around your location. Thirdly it asks for Fitness motion tracker. The track allows Anon to define a radius within which it can locate and match tasks. Without this permission it casts an infinite radius and thus crashes. We recommend simply downloading the app again and enabling this particular permission.

If the problem persists, please get in touch with us so we can look into fixing it asap!

Create your first task.

1. Click on the "Add Task" button at the bottom of the home screen.

2. Select a location for your task. It can be as vague as Porto, Portugal or as precise as a particular location or let it be your current location which is selected by default. Click Next.

3. Give the task a name. We recommend making it actionable. Type in some helpful notes to jog your memory about the task. Use helpful tags to find this task easily. These are optional but highly recommended steps.

4. Click 'Done' at the top right corner of the screen. Huzzah! You just created your first Anon task.

03.

Edit a task.

1. Click on the edit task () button at the top right corner of the screen.

2. Update the task name / notes / tags and simply click on the update button once you are happy with the changes.

04.

Mark a task as done

1. Simply click 'Mark as done' button at the bottom of the screen on your task page.

Tip: If you want the task to be recurrent, just don't mark it as done. The next time you are in the same area, Anon will remind you of the task again.

05.

06.

Delete multiple tasks

This will delete all the selected tasks permanently.

07.

Change timer settings

On the settings () page, you will find the timer option. You can change the timer from a number of available presets. This will change the dwell time being calculated. A shorter dwell time would mean the app calculates your presenece in a location as you dwelling there and thus notifies you of your tasks quicker. A longer dwell time would mean the opposite.
